Rubicon Pizza Fundraiser
Volunteer and Help TINS Raise $20,000+
We are so excited to announce that TINS has been selected as the 2025 Nonprofit Partner for Rubicon Pizza at Northstar Village. Recipients of this partnership have received over $20,000 for in support of their organization's mission and we think we can bring in even more with your help! Each Saturday during the ski season, a pizza cart will be set-up in the Northstar Village where our volunteers will sell slices and share information about TINS. Profits from the pizza cart and tips will go directly to support TINS' mission of advancing the natural history, ecological, and conservation knowledge of the Tahoe region through science, education, and outreach.
You can make a difference by volunteering!
We need at least two volunteers each Saturday and a few extra days during the holidays. Everyone is welcome to volunteer (so bring your family and friends) and training will be provided. All you need to bring is a smile! Volunteers will set up a small table with information about TINS and Rubicon Pizza will provide all the gear needed to sell slices. The cart will open 11:30 am-3:30 pm.
We have heard your requests for more opportunities to volunteer and this is a great way to help out TINS, share your passion, and meet some new friends. Please check out our Sign-up Genius form see if there is a date that you can help. If you would like to volunteer for a date that is full, or have any questions, please email me (jennie@tinsweb.org). Thank you in advance for your support!
FAQs
Q: What do I bring?
A: We will be out in the elements, so dress in warm layers, wear sunscreen, and don’t forget your smile! Everything else you need is already at the Village.
Q: Is parking available? How should I get there?
A: We recognize that parking can be a challenge at Northstar, but there are several options available and we recommend carpooling whenever possible.
Park at Castle Peak parking and take the free shuttle to the Village. This is the parking area closest to Hwy 267.
Take TART
TART offers buses directly to Northstar from Truckee and from Kings Beach
Park-and-Ride services are available from Lift Workspace near Truckee Airport
TART Connect offers on-demand, curb-to-curb services for any trip
Make a parking reservation
If you carpool with a group of 4 or more, you can make a free reservation at the Village View Parking Area
There are also paid reservations for groups of less than 3
Q: What if I want to volunteer with a group?
A: We welcome you to sign up with a group of friends. You can fill out the Sign-Up form for both slots then bring additional volunteers.
Q: What if the weather is bad?
A: If the weather is forecasted to be bad, we will cancel the pizza cart. We will do our best to notify volunteers at least 24 hours in advance if we are canceling a shift. If the weather changes during the shift and foot traffic is slow, the cart may close early.
Q: What if I don’t know how to answer a question about TINS?
A: All we ask is that you do your best to provide insight into your experience with TINS. If you have any questions that you can’t answer, “I don’t know, but I can find out” is always a great answer. You can direct guests to our website, give them our contact information, or take their contact information and we will get back to them.
