Mythbusting Lake Tahoe at Incline Library

Are floating bodies a mystery in the Lake? Are beavers truly native to the region? Do all bears hibernate in Tahoe? It’s time to separate fact from fiction and uncover the truth behind some of Lake Tahoe’s myths and legends!

Join us for a fun and informative evening with guest speaker Sarah Hockensmith from the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS). Sarah will take us on a journey through Tahoe's fascinating history, unique geology, and diverse flora and fauna. We'll dive deep into the myths and misconceptions surrounding the Lake Tahoe Basin and the surrounding Sierra Nevada and Carson Range ecosystems.

This free event is proudly sponsored by TINS and the Washoe County Library System. Come curious, and leave enlightened as we explore, debunk, and celebrate the natural wonders of Tahoe!

Mark your calendars! Registration coming early 2025..
