Lynn’s 2024 Bird-A-Thon Fundraiser -

For the the 2018 and 2021 Tahoe Big Years (with participants trying to find as many birds species in the Tahoe region during the calendar year), Lynn Harriman decided to up the challenge by birding the entire Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT), twice! She made it a fundraiser for TINS, asking for pledges for each bird species she identified during her triennial journey around the rim of Lake Tahoe. In 2018 she found 80 different bird species and in 2021 she found 93, raising over $10,000 for TINS, single-handedly!

This year, she is did it again with her grand finale Bird-A-Thon, splitting the trail into 9 sections and we hope you will consider supporting her in this adventurous fundraising effort in 2024!

A pledge of even 10 cents per bird species can help, or you can simply make a flat donation to her cause. Click the buttons on the right to make a flat donation or to make a per-species pledge!

Lynn’s says, “I believe in the power of TINS to change our world. Their education programs in our local schools, their ongoing research, citizen science and outreach to the communities surrounding Lake Tahoe are making a difference. I want to continue to be a part of that success. Being a TINS member, you will always learn something new, see something amazing and meet nice people. It’s not too late to join the Tahoe Big Year and start your own bird list now.”
