South Lake Bug Camp

For campers ages 6-8

At various locations in South Lake Tahoe, investigating campers will look under logs and rocks, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects. They will also learn what these bugs eat and their important jobs in the ecosystem all while playing games, working on art projects, exploring Tahoe's natural beauty, and making new friends.

Note: Drop-off locations will vary by day.

Dates/Times: July 15-18, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm

Cost: $180; $160 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members


Mini South Lake Bug Camp

For campers ages 6-8

In this special three-day mini camp, young campers will look under logs, among plants, and in tree bark in search of hidden insects in various locations around South Lake Tahoe. They will also learn what these bugs eat and their important jobs in the ecosystem.

Note: Drop off location varies by day.

Dates/Times: July 9-11, Tuesday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm

Cost: $135; $120 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members

Tahoe Explorers

For campers ages 9-12

As this camp is designed for adventurous kids, campers will explore Tahoe's wildlife and watershed, learn about forest ecology, and experience the geology of the Tahoe basin. Campers will hike, kayak, play games, and learn from various natural science experts.

Note: Drop-off locations will vary by day.

Dates/Times: July 22-26, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm

Cost: $300; $270 for Tahoe Institute for Natural Science members
