Reno Patagonia: Wildflowers of Tahoe

Sarah Hockensmith of the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) returns to Patagonia to introduce the public to the diverse wildflowers of the Tahoe region. To celebrate the hundreds of plant species in the region, Sarah will cover the basic structures of flowers, some of the best locations to find wildflowers at Lake Tahoe, and what wildflowers to expect at those locations.

She will also introduce the 2022 Tahoe Wildflower Big Year (TWBY), a year-long event that celebrates the hundreds of plant species that make the Tahoe region their home. We are planning many events and activities, including guided wildflower outings, workshops and talks on a variety of topics (wildflower ID, photography, gardening with natives, pollinators, etc.), and other special events.

This event is FREE and open to the public. A $10 donation is recommended all to benefit the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science. Click here to register.

Doors Open at 7pm

Presentation Starts at 7:30-8:30pm
