Carson Valley Raptor Outing - Full

Sunday, February 11, 2018 10:00am-12:30pm

*** Registration Full ***

In the winter months, Carson Valley is one of the best places to view raptors of all kinds. We would like to invite you to come out with us to observe the many species of hawks and eagles on February 11, 2018 from 10am-12:30pm. The agricultural fields of the valley provide food for migrating raptors including various species of rodent. In addition, because late winter and early spring is calving season, many raptors huddle together to feed on remnants from the birthing processes of cows.

Wintering raptors include Bald and Golden Eagles, Rough-legged, Ferruginous, and Red-tailed Hawks, Coopers and Shark-shinned Hawks, Kestrel, Prairie Falcon, and more.

This event will hold a max of 15 people.
